BUFFALO COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
Page Last Updated 4-10-03

We serve the greater public and county residents with safe and reliable road maintenence. We have a 186 mile road system and three full time employees. We handle all aspects of road care including R.O.W. care. Signing and drainage issues are also our responsibility. The photo at right is our gravel handling equipment. This single truck and loader enable us to haul roughly 12,000-15,000 ton of gravel annually. Two patrols are used to maintain the roadways at all times, and the truck and patrols serve double duty in winter seasonal snow management.

HUMAN RESOURCES
Acting Supt. Kenneth Wulff has been with Buffalo County since January 1998.  Operator Troy Naser has been with Buffalo County since December 2000. Troy and Kenneth have been making the improvements happen. Their skills and talents are evident in the many accomplishments the department has realized in the past two years.   Keith Bridge recently started in November of 2003.  He is a shared benefit to both the Courthouse and Highway Shop as part-time assistant through a Seniors Works fedral subsidized program at no cost to the County.  This small staff manages to deliver the results neccessary to maintain a small county with limited funding in the most professional manner possible, while providing residential services vital to remote residents including grading, graveling and snow management to your door in addition to FAS secondary and collector roads.
